The tiny hamlet of Welsh Newton Common is situated between the beautiful Monnow and Wye Valleys amidst the borderlands of England and Wales. It is close to Offa’s Dyke and the attractive market town of Monmouth with its mixture of elegant Georgian mansions and Victorian courtyards, offering excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. For the more energetic there is great walking and cycling available from your door, including walks along Offa’s Dyke, the Wye and Monnow Valleys and the Forest of Dean, as well as horse riding and canoeing nearby. The area is also rich in heritage, with many castles including Monmouth, Goodrich & Raglan Castles, and numerous beautiful churches including the remains of the stunning Tintern Abbey just half an hour away. Other attractions include Clearwell Castle and Caves, Puzzle Wood, Symonds Yat, Monmouth Activity Centre and Hereford with its beautiful cathedral, excellent shopping and of course the Mappa Mundi. Set on the edge of the valley above Monmouth, the property boasts breathtaking views stretching across the Wye Valley and to the Black Mountains.
