A short distance from the Langdale and Furness Fells, and not far from the Helvellyn range, it is a perfect setting for outdoor activities including hiking, climbing and mountain biking, water sports - including sailing, windsurfing and canoeing on Lake Windermere or Coniston - or golf, with several excellent courses nearby. The nearby towns of Ambleside, Windermere and Keswick are great for shopping and are packed with museums and art galleries as well as other attractions such as the Lake District National Park Visitors Centre in Windermere. With comfortable modern furnishings, and underfloor heating providing extra comfort in the winter, The Granary is the perfect venue for many a happy holiday in any season. The larger town of Ambleside is around a fifteen-minute drive away and is the departure point for a number of popular cruises on Lake Windermere. The location of the property means that it is a wonderful base for anyone who wants to make the most of the regions walking routes and there are even walks directly from the cottage itself. Nearby Coniston water is a great place for visitors to try their hand at a range of water sports, including paddle-boarding, canoeing, windsurfing and rowing. This beautiful property makes a wonderful base to return to after a busy day of sightseeing, walking, climbing or water sports, offering a restful countryside retreat. On entering the property, guests come immediately to the stylish and sunny kitchen/diner which is well-equipped with an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher, A kitchen island offers a great place to prepare meals, perhaps whilst watching the TV. The dining area, at the far end of this room, is especially light, as it surrounded by windows on three sides. The lower end has the TV and DVD, as well as French windows which lead out to the patio, whilst two steps up lead to the second area which is dominated by the impressive stone fireplace which now houses the cosy wood burner. This space makes a relaxing retreat, with its comfortable seating and window seat which offers scenic views across the valley. The bespoke kitchen has been thoughtfully and stylishly finished and is well-equipped with a Range cooker, hob, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. The washing machine and tumble dryer can be found in a separate utility room where you will also find a very useful drying cabinet.  The property’s dining room is located in a light and airy extension, which benefits from French windows giving access to the garden and an additional TV.
